Why a line is unverified

What "unverified" means on a line or an invoice, the reasons it happens, and how to get those lines checked.

Unverified is not passed

A line is unverified when CostCode had nothing to check its price against. It's never counted as passed, and the invoice says how many of its lines were checked, so an unchecked line can't hide behind a clean-looking total.

The usual reasons

Each unverified line carries its reason. The common ones:

  • No agreed rate for that item with that supplier on the invoice date.
  • Not enough price history for that item yet.
  • The line couldn't be matched confidently to an item on file.
  • The line has no unit price, or no description, on the invoice.
  • A charge (freight, a fuel levy) with no charge agreement on file.

Getting them checked

Load the supplier's schedule of rates, or build one from the invoices you've already paid, then re-check that supplier's invoices from the agreement's panel. Lines with a rate get a verdict; the rest stay unverified with their reason.
