Supplier email, and why nothing sends itself

Supplier email starts off. When it's on, a query is drafted from evidence the supplier can check, and goes only when a person presses send.

Off until you turn it on

Supplier email is off for a new organisation. Invoices are still read and checked, and your team still hears about holds, but nothing goes to a supplier from CostCode. While it's off, a held invoice shows the query CostCode would send, read-only, with copy buttons, so you can send it yourself.

An owner or admin turns it on in Settings, and confirms they're allowed to let CostCode email your suppliers.

What a query can say

A query quotes only what the supplier can check for themselves: the rate you agreed with them, the arithmetic on their own invoice, GST, the unit, or that they've sent the same invoice twice. What you paid other suppliers, and your own price history, never appear in a message to a supplier. That rule is enforced in the code and tested.

A person presses send

A project manager or above drafts the query, reads it and presses send. Their name and the time go on the record. Nothing is ever sent automatically.

Team email is separate

Team email (held-invoice alerts to your own people, the weekday digest) has its own switch in Settings and starts on. Turning it off doesn't change what reaches suppliers.
